Rēzekne Municipality invites remigrants and entrepreneurs to apply for the project competition “Support for Remigration – Entrepreneurship in Rēzekne Municipality”, which aims to encourage the return of remigrants to Latvia, promote the development of entrepreneurship in Rēzekne Municipality, and create new jobs for remigrants.
The deadline for submitting project applications has been extended until the end of the day on 28 September 2026.
The competition is open to:
individuals – remigrants (members of the Latvian diaspora) who plan to establish a new business in Rēzekne Municipality;
legal entities that, within the framework of the project, create at least one new job for a remigrant.
The total funding available in 2026 is EUR 12,366.24, of which:
EUR 6,183.12 – co-financing from the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development (VARAM);
EUR 6,183.12 – co-financing from Rēzekne Municipality.
The maximum grant available for one project is EUR 12,366.24. The project applicant must provide co-financing of at least 50% of the funding allocated by VARAM.
The project must address one of the following objectives:
creating a job for a remigrant in an existing company;
establishing a new business by a remigrant.
For the purposes of the project, a remigrant is a person who has returned, relocated, or plans to relocate from permanent residence abroad to permanent residence in Latvia and meets the following criteria:
has had or currently has permanent residence abroad for at least 2 (two) years;
no more than 2 (two) years have passed since returning or relocating to Latvia;
within the framework of the support programme, plans to establish a new remigrant-owned business and/or create a new job for themselves or another remigrant.
A completed project application form together with all required supporting documents can be submitted:
in person – at Rēzekne Municipality, 95a Atbrīvošanas aleja, Rēzekne, by arranging the submission time in advance with the project competition contact person;
electronically – by signing the documents with a secure electronic signature (eParaksts) and sending them to info@rezeknesnovads.lv.
