For the third consecutive year, municipalities in four districts of the Riga Planning Region—Ādaži, Ķekava, Ropaži, and Salaspils—are offering state and municipal financial support, through a competitive grant programme, to remigrants who have lived abroad for at least two years and returned to Latvia for permanent residence no more than two years ago to establish new businesses.

The grant is also available to businesses in these municipalities that plan to create new jobs for remigrants.

This year, the application period has already closed in Ādaži and Salaspils. However, applications are still open in Ķekava Municipality until 31 July and in Ropaži Municipality until 31 August. For more information, please contact: koordinators@rpr.gov.lv

The grants are awarded within the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development's programme "Remigration Support Measure – Business Support."

In 2025, two newly established businesses founded by remigrants received support. Vineta Zālīte, who returned from the United Kingdom, established Prosperis, a company producing healthy and environmentally friendly products, including herbal teas and candied fruit. Sandra Purena, who returned from Norway, founded Pure Wood, a children's furniture manufacturing company.

To learn how Vineta and Sandra are doing today and how their businesses have developed, watch the video on the Latvijas Mediji YouTube channel:
