Rēzekne Municipality invites remigrants and entrepreneurs to apply for the project competition "Support for Remigration – Entrepreneurship in Rēzekne Municipality". The aim of the programme is to encourage remigrants to return to Latvia, promote entrepreneurship in Rēzekne Municipality, and create new employment opportunities for remigrants.
Application period: 29 June – 27 July 2026.
Who can apply?
- Natural persons – remigrants (members of the Latvian diaspora) who plan to establish a new business in Rēzekne Municipality.
- Legal entities – companies that will create at least one new job for a remigrant within the framework of the project.
Funding
The total funding available in 2026 is EUR 12,366.24, consisting of:
- EUR 6,183.12 co-financing from the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development (VARAM);
- EUR 6,183.12 co-financing from Rēzekne Municipality.
The maximum grant available per project is EUR 12,366.24.
Applicants must provide co-financing amounting to at least 50% of the funding granted by VARAM.
Eligible project objectives
Projects must include one of the following objectives:
- Creating a new job for a remigrant in an existing company;
- Establishing a new business by a remigrant.
Within the framework of this programme, a remigrant is a person who has returned, relocated, or plans to relocate from permanent residence abroad to permanent residence in Latvia and who:
- has lived abroad permanently for at least two years;
- returned to or relocated to Latvia no more than two years ago;
- plans to establish a new business and/or create a new job for themselves or another remigrant under this support programme.

Completed application forms together with all required supporting documents may be submitted:
- In person at Rēzekne Municipality, Atbrīvošanas aleja 95A, Rēzekne (please arrange the submission time in advance with the project contact person);
- Electronically, by signing the documents with a secure electronic signature (eParaksts) and sending them to info@rezeknesnovads.lv.
