On 24 and 25 October, workshops of the “Olympic Quantum” project will take place in Alicante and Barcelona, combining sports, the Latvian language and a sense of belonging to Latvia through active and creative activities.
The workshops will be led by Latvian Olympian Jolanta Dukure, who will invite children and families from the Latvian diaspora to take part in sports games, relay races and creative activities.
Inga Madžule, the remigration coordinator of the Vidzeme Planning Region, will also participate in the events, leading informal discussions about life, work and opportunities to return to Latvia.
Locations:
- 24 October: “Ābelīte”, a Latvian diaspora Sunday school for children in the Levante region, Alicante;
- 25 October: The Latvian community in Barcelona.
The aim of the events is to strengthen the connection between diaspora families and Latvia and to encourage the use of the Latvian language.
The project is financially supported by the Society Integration Foundation using state budget funds allocated by the Ministry of Culture of Latvia.
The project in Spain is implemented by “Ābelīte”, a Latvian diaspora Sunday school for children in the Levante region, and the Latvian community in Barcelona, in cooperation with the Latvian Association in France, dukure.eu and the Vidzeme Planning Region.
